ALPHA KOUKOUTARIS

Alfa is a family business founded by Athanasios Koukoutaris , who started the business in mid-1950 by making and selling handmade pies. Today Alfa holds the leading position in the Greek food market and its exports grow rapidly and expand to Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia. They are committed to the highest international quality and safety standards ISO: 9001-2008, HACCP, IFS, BRC. Alfa blends premium, all-natural ingredients to create pastry products of a distinct Mediterranean character, high nutritional value and exceptional taste. They reinforce the local market by using exclusively products from the area, and put great effort in maintaining their continuous commitment to Quality, Safety and Innovation. They also have an in-house chemistry and microbiological laboratories possess the latest and most advanced instruments for the analysis and control of raw materials and production sampling. Currently, Alfa employs 220 people and emphasizes in training seminars, specialization, information on new techniques and methods concerning production, supply, distribution, sales and service.  

ASEPOP VELVENDOS

In 1958 a group of producers from the area of Kozanis’ Velventos establishes ASEPOP VELVENTOS for the purpose of improving the cultivation and marketing of the agricultural products of the Velventos area, such as peaches, nectarines, apples, pears, plums and vegetables. ASEPOP VELVENTOS employs 15 permanent staff and during the summer peak period employs up to a further 80 seasonal staff. Its products can be found all over Greece while it achieves substantial exports in countries of Central and Eastern Europe with the main market that of Russia. During the last years ASEPOP implements a total quality production system and is certified according to ISO, HACCP, GLOBALGAP and EUREPGAP. Since 2002 ASEPOP VELVENTOS has implemented a total quality product management system according to AGRO 2.1 2.2. All the producers seek the advice of the geotechnical department before applying any cultivating care. Every year new cultivating methods that have previously been successfully tried in other areas are experimentally implemented. All the producers are obliged to record all cultivating cares that they apply to their farms for the purpose of having a safe and quality product.  

AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE DIMITRA

The Production Organization (POs) Agricultural Cooperative Velvendo DIMITRA was established in 1987.  The company is operating on the field of harvest and packaging local fruits (peaches, nectarines, apples, plums). More than 60% of all peaches and nectarines are exported, as well as smaller quantities of the rest fruits.  Cooperative DIMITRA is certificated by the organization AGROCERT for the production of peaches and nectarines according to AGRO 1-2 and AGRO 2-2 standards, concerning Integrated Management System.  This particular certification guarantees that the fruits are as congested as possible with pesticides and fertilizers. The whole production is organized as to respect the environment as well as the consumers.  

ESTATE VOGIATZI

Vogiatzis family enjoys a long heritage as wine merchants, documented since the early 20th century. Vogiatzis estate is thirty three km south-east of Kozani, by the Lake Polyfytos, in Velvendo. The winds help keep the occurrence of diseases to a minimum. This makes it possible to adhere to the guidelines of organic viticulture with great success. The estate has a certification from ΔΗΩ, which is an organization for the inspection and certification of biological products. The production of wines is organized as to be environmental friendly, as it has minimum Co2 emissions, and also uses the method of composting for the grape wastes, which are finally used as a fertilizer at the fields.  

PRODUCTS LAND VOIOU

The company was founded in 2008 at Tsotili Kozani. Its main object is processing, packaging and standardization of pulses. The company applies a quality and food safety system according to EN ISO 22000:2005, and also a quality management system, including the Produce Handling, modeled on GLOPALG.AP (EUREPGAP), as for the producers who grow legumes. All the processes of the company are environmentally friendly, as from the beginning of construction of its facilities the owners placed a system for the collection and use of rainwater in the unit, which are mainly used in the beautification of the surroundings and cleanliness. They also implement a system for recycling paper and packaging materials plant preparations used by producers.  

BIOPAN KOURELAS

Kourelas SA was founded in 1992 at the city of Grevena. It activates in producing dairy products and fodder and also in developing agricultural economy with innovative applications. It has its own network of milk collection, storage, pasteurization, processing, curing, packing and storage of final products. It also has an integrated laboratory for quality control and follows an inviolability traceability system.  The company produces several types of cheese and yogurt, and also a local cheese, Protected Designation of Origin, which was identified by the company and is distributed through Greece and Europe. In 1996, Kourelas SA is the first Greek company active in the production of organic dairy products. Since then it builds an integrated self-powered system for producing dairy products with proper application of Regulations. The company has implemented the HACCP (hazard analysis critical control points) for each product line to fully ensure product safety and quality assurance system certified according to ISO 9001:2000 and BRC for dairy products.  It also has self-recognized laboratories with full equipment and qualified personnel to conduct the audits.  

DITSIOS SA

In 1965, Trifonas Ditsios created the first unit for processing and dyeing furs in Kastoria. The entire production process is organized so as to be completely environmentally friendly with minimal emissions and minimal power consumption, making Ditsios SA the most and ecological Fur dressing and dyeing factory in the world today. All the necessary electricity is produced from photovoltaic arcs, with current net capacity of 100KW. The plant uses all the rainwater in its production process. The plant utilizes a modern chemical cleaning, separating and cleaning the polluted water, which is either reused as agricultural fertilizer or stored in special waste containers. Their employees are in constant training for new techniques and ready to respond to market demands.
