Organized Session on Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Economy in the context of the 16th International Music Conference in Kozani

On Wednesday August 20, the session on Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Economy was held, in the context of the 16th International Music Conference at the Archaeological Museum of Aiani. The main subject of the discussion concerned the relationship between music, culture and economy, and the way these could cooperate and coexist.

The event was co-organized by the Regional Development Fund of Western Macedonia and the 16th International Music Conference in Kozani.

The participants at the event were informed on issues such as “Music notation as an economic activity”, “Creative Platform for Social Innovation”, “Social economy and culture. Expectations and examples”.

DESUR Project was presented during the event, which aims at the Development of Sustainable Regions through Responsible SMEs. The Corporate Social Responsibility and its role in promoting culture and art at local level was also discussed, as well as the ways that businesses, cultural institutions, citizens and the state can promote culture through responsible actions and responsible attitude.

Additional information was given about the actions performed by the Region of Western Macedonia and the Regional Development Fund of Western Macedonia during the two years of implementation of DESUR.

An interactive, productive discussion among participants followed, about the need to associate art with economy through a common code of communication, so that there can be a two-sided benefit for arts and culture and the local economy. The meeting was attended by the well-known composer Panagiotis Dimopoulos and the newly elected mayor of Kozani, Lefteris Ioannidis.
